About

Ruby Nagelberg is an undergraduate student at Hunter College majoring in Geography and Anthropology and minoring in Jewish Studies. She is a Sage Scholar and has been accepted into the Thomas Hunter Honors Program.

Ruby is currently working on her capstone project at Hunter College’s Geography Department developing a profile of her hometown, Woodstock, NY. The project documents the influx of permanent residents and tourists from NYC as a result of the pandemic and the changes in the character of the once small town as a result. Through this project, Ruby seeks to explore her own contribution to the gentrification of Woodstock, her parents having moved there from Manhattan, and consider whether this influx is different from earlier migrations.
